We exist so a child's heart is never a matter of money

How we started without a hospital of our own

We began with a single child, a family who had been told their son needed heart surgery, and no way to pay for it. A small group of doctors and volunteers found the money, found a hospital willing to operate, and watched him walk out well.

We did not have a building, a ward, or a single machine of our own. What we had was a phone that we refused to stop answering, a handful of surgeons who agreed to see one more case as a favor, and a stubborn refusal to accept that a child should be lost to something medicine already knew how to fix. So we built the only way we could: not with bricks, but with relationships. We convinced one hospital, then another, then a third, until a family with nowhere to turn had somewhere to go.

That refusal to give up became a promise: no child in our reach would be turned away from treatable heart disease because their family was poor. Years later, that promise has grown into a network of partner hospitals, surgeons, and supporters spanning dozens of districts, built entirely on people who said yes when they could have said no.
